What’s involved in a routine electrical inspection?
Our routine electrical testing is a servicing of your electrical supply. A routine inspection check – usually performed every 12 months – will involve a review of the performance of your electrical installations. This usually entails a thorough visual inspection; checking the equipment is operating correctly and identifying and fixing any wear and tear and deterioration.
It is not as in-depth as a fixed wiring test, which is typically carried out every 5-10 years. It is not a legal requirement to have an annual electrical inspection, but it is highly recommended to have one to keep on top of any potential maintenance issues. However, since 2020, it has been a legal requirement to have an EICR certificate if you are a landlord or business owner, which is a more meticulous test and is usually performed every 5 years. We are fully qualified to perform both tests, so get in touch if you need any form of professional electrical inspection performed.
Our fully qualified electrician will test and inspect all the fixed electrical installations in the property, such as the wiring, light fittings, fuse boxes, plug sockets, extractor fans and your shower. Not at all. The inspection is very much non-invasive as it largely involves visual inspection. The only way there would be any disruption to your day-to-day routine is if there is a fault found and parts need to be replaced.
